TORONTO, Ontario – February 4th, 2005 – Although his parents left Canada in search of warmer weather, Yaro Starak, a dual Canadian and Australian citizen, saw an opportunity to return to his roots to expand his business and experience a real Canadian winter for the first time.

“I’ve been to Toronto many times, but my parents always made sure we traveled to Canada in summer or autumn. I’ve never been through a Canadian winter. My home city Brisbane rarely drops below 10 degrees Celsius so this will certainly be a new experience,” said Mr. Starak.

After a year of significant growth in Australia, Mr. Starak’s business ‘BetterEdit.com’, a proofreading and editing service that links students with professional editors via the Internet, has officially entered Canada.

Mr. Starak founded BetterEdit.com while completing a business management degree at university. He launched the proofreading service after experiencing first hand the difficulties faced by international students studying at university.

“I spent a whole night editing the writing of one of my group assignment members who was an international student. I thought, ‘if this is the quality of his writing for all his papers he must be struggling just to pass,’” explained Mr. Starak.

Students immediately began logging on to BetterEdit.com for help.

Now Canadian students have the opportunity to benefit from the service. Mr. Starak has begun promoting BetterEdit.com at university campuses in the greater Toronto area and believes Canadian students will take to the service just as Australians have.

“My business helps hundreds of Australian students improve their essays and theses each year,” Mr. Starak said. “It’s about time Canadians were aware of the service as well.”

“Surviving the winter will just add to the challenge!”
