Stetson Convention Services Creates SEA™ - the first Tradeshow Industry Sustainability Criteria

June 22, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Pittsburgh, PA – Stetson Convention Services announced today that they have shaped the tradeshow industry’s first criteria exemplar for sustainable and eco-friendly decorator practices. The purpose of the SEA™ is to recognize the outstanding efforts of SCS’s exhibiting companies who are successfully minimizing the negative environmental effects of participating in expositions and tradeshows. The SEA™ criteria are based on internationally accepted methodologies for practicing sustainable and environmentally conscientious exhibit procedures. Show Managers & Tradeshows who participate will be recognized through a rating system designed to incentivise and reward those exhibitors who choose to commit to environmental design, efficiency and waste reduction when exhibiting.

Kris Sandherr, Vice President/Business Development and spearhead for SEA™, states “Each participating exhibitor will earn points for the amount of environmentally responsible practices and products incorporated into their display. This rating system was specifically designed so that every company has the opportunity to attain the highest SEA ™ rating regardless of booth size. In incorporating this rating system into our already established sustainable practices, we hope to raise awareness and set a standard in our industry where the waste footprint is significant.”

SCS is poised to implement the SEA™ Criteria beginning in Fall 2006.
