DEBRA CYR'S PHOTO WINS FIRST PLACE AWARD

Cyr’s winning photograph is on display at www.maine.gov. The next contest "celebrating the beauty and unique character of Fall in Maine", according to the web site, is open to professional and amateur photographers.

"I was thrilled to be recognized," said the photographer, "I see northern Maine's wonders every day and it's wonderful to share it with others."

The picture "Moose Family", a Summer glimpse of two moose crossing a farmer's field in Washburn, ME won First Place in the Wildlife Category. Cyr’s focus is on Northern Maine scenic and wildlife photography and covers an area from Mount Katahdin north to Aroostook County, and the St. John Valley where she and her husband Gene grew up.

Cyr’s images, along with the other winning photos, are displayed on the Maine.gov home page. Clicking the "Photo Contest" link allows visitors to view all the winning photographs.
