Location Based Marketing (LBM) is a new marketing channel that uses Bluetooth enabled mobile communications for personal one-to-one marketing and advertising purposes.

Andrew Lord [Marketing Director - Assertiv eMedia] said “The missing ingredient to Outdoor Advertising has always been a Call to Action. A recent Nike campaign showed how Bluetooth can complement Billboards through sending extended TV adverts, Brochures and Local Shop Addresses to those interested in the advert”.

Bluetooth marketing is free and ten times faster then GPRS, this enables exceptional quality content such as video and audio to be delivered instantly. Bandwidth and cost restrictions of normal mobile marketing are removed.

Figures show that Proximity Marketing can produce increased sales, particularly when used as part of an overall marketing mix in conjunction with other advertising media such as online, radio, TV or print.

Kashif Mumtaz [Founder & CEO - Assertiv eMedia] said “Campaigns can now be tailored to the offer at a specific location, from Shopping Malls to Stadiums, Hotels, Airports, and even Restaurants. Every location has its own unique offering, for instance a Volvo campaign recently marketed the discounts offered by each local showroom, regardless of the fact that each showroom offers a different package”.
