Star Publish Announces the Release of Waking God
June 27, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business NewsStar Publish (http://starpublish.com) announces the June 2006 release of Waking God by Brian Doe and Philip Harris. Waking God, the first book in a trilogy of the same name, is available for order at your local bookstore and at online bookstores such as Amazon.com, BN.com, and others.
Kristie Leigh Maguire, the owner of Star Publish, said, “In the query letter from the authors for the manuscript of Waking God was the statement, ‘Take a rest, Dan Brown, Doe and Harris are here with Waking God.’ I thought this was a bit presumptuous of the authors; then I read the manuscript and realized that Harris and Doe were right on with their statement. This book will blow you away.”
The pre-publication reviewers agreed with Ms. Maguire’s assessment of Waking God. Piers Anthony, New York Times Bestselling Author, Nebula and Hugo Award Nominee, stated, “A provocative novel, part thriller, part religion…a fast moving story with thriller aspects that should make you think. Waking God is a worthy novel.”
Nina M. Osier, author of SAGARMATHA and 2005 EPPIE Award Winner said, “Authors Doe and Harris have done an impressive amount of research into ancient myths, manuscripts, and belief systems. They've used this research to spin a tale that kept this lifelong lover of speculative fiction turning pages far into the night. Their characters, even the fantastically non-Human ones, came to life and demanded that I care what happened next. Their plot held together, and the universe they created stayed consistent even as it also became progressively more complicated. I'll want to read the rest of this intriguing speculative fiction trilogy for sure!”
Marvin D. Wilson, author of I Romanced the Stone, stated, “Waking God is at once captivating, deeply thought provoking, and spiritually inspiring. On the surface, it can be read as an extremely entertaining suspense thriller, with an ever-thickening plot and plentiful nerve-racking twists. As the story unfolds, however, it can also be absorbed and studied in awe, as one might treat a mystical and magical ancient scroll, discovered in some remote cave, deep within the mindscape of the Godhead.”
Brian Doe was born in Ogdensburg, New York, and grew up on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. From a young age, he recognized his passion for the written word and committed himself to the pursuit of writing. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in writing from St. Lawrence University, and a Master’s Degree in secondary education from the State University of New York at Potsdam College. Mr. Doe is an English teacher in Upstate New York where he lives with his wife and children.

He has worked at every level of government, participated in political campaigns, and has extensive experience in the private sector.
