Largo, FL; Precision Images, LLC – High-quality films for the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) industry are now available at www.ndtfilm.com, the e-commerce Web site serving the NDT marketplace. The e-commerce facility is operated by Precision Images LLC (www.precision-images.biz) of Largo, Florida, which is a premier provider of products and services to the industrial films and imaging market since 1984. The company can deliver extremely high-quality films at lowest prices thanks to its Internet-based sales model, which lowers the company’s cost by eliminating a dedicated sales force. Those savings are passed on to its customers in the form of lower prices. Small-quantity purchasers of industrial films have, traditionally, paid higher prices because of their low volumes; the www.ndtfilm.com Web option brings those small-volume purchasers the same pricing benefits usually reserved for larger users.

Under its exclusive distribution agreement with FOMA Bohemia spol. s r.o. of Prague, Czech Republic (www.foma.cz), Precision Images will deliver five (5) different photographic/radiographic film products, designed especially for the NDT industry, to its U.S. customers. Included in Precision Images’ product line will be FOMA’s “Indux” R-4, R-5, R-7, R-8 and “Rollfilm FOMADUX” products (for product information, visit www.ndtfilm.com/ndt-tech-film-data-sheets.htm.) These products already enjoy substantial popularity in the European, Mid-East, Indian and Asian marketplaces. FOMA Bohemia is an ISO 9000:2000 certified manufacturer, meaning it’s manufacturing operations meet the International Standards Organization’s criteria for customer's quality requirements, applicable regulatory requirements, enhancing customer satisfaction, and achievement continual improvement of its performance. FOMA Films are competitive in quality with such major film brands as Agfa, Kodak and Fuji.

ADD 1 – PRECISION IMAGES MARKETS NEW NDT FILM PRODUCTS

The “Indux” films are designed for use in radiographic NDT, which uses penetrating gamma- or X-rays to create an image of the product, component or system being tested. The image appears on the film, after development in a processing lab or darkroom. The process can identify potential flaws such as imbedded fractures, metallic weaknesses, improper thicknesses or failure-prone welds.

Precision Images President, Bob Fountaine, said “Our objective is to offer the NDT industry the highest quality film products at the lowest possible price. We’re proud to be able to introduce such high quality products as the FOMA film line to the U.S. market. We’re also pleased that, in FOMA Bohemia, we’ve found a manufacturer who shares our commitment to the industrial film industry when many of the major vendors are abandoning the film market by switching to an entirely digital product line.” He continued, “We pride ourselves on our expertise in the industrial imaging marketplace.”

NDT film products are used by engineers, quality assurance technicians, and testing lab consultants to assure the operational integrity of structural components and systems. The applications of non-destructive testing can range from transportation security (x-raying cargoes) and aviation maintenance (examination of turbine blades on a jet engine) to checking oil/gas pipeline integrity (detecting potential fractures and leaks) and product quality in manufacturing (random testing of consumer and/or industrial products.) The film exposed during the testing process becomes part of the documentation for development of new products, quality assurance on products coming off the manufacturing line and insurance investigations after a product failure.

Precision Images LLC is a Largo, Florida-based distributor for industrial film products from Kodak in addition to its new role with FOMA Bohemia. The company has separate divisions for sales of film products to the printed circuit board, NDT and surveillance, data recording and reprographics industries.
