Mark Rushton's first commercial music release, The Driver's Companion, is now available via musicdownloads.walmart.com as a digital download for $9.44. Individual tracks can also be purchased for 88 cents each. Previews of tracks are available at the WalMart web site.

The Driver's Companion starts off with Theme From Lincoln Highway, a sprightful electronica tune featuring guitars and keyboards. Theme From Lincoln Highway is Rushton's most popular individually downloaded track.

Next is Psychometrics, a multi-part rock tune with searing guitars, a psychedelic center, and an ambient fade-out.

Downdream, the third track, has melodic acoustic guitars over haunting electronica and programmed beats.

Adventitious, based on a blues guitar riff, battles it out with electronics and ambience towards a timpani-pounding conclusion.

Acoustic guitars return on This Is How You Disappear, a piece that ends in beautiful, swirling electronica cacaphony.

Free The Airwaves, the sixth track, is a chillout slice of multi-layered keyboards, thick bass, and stop-and-go drum programming.

The Seedling Mile, a mid-tempo tune, combines a keyboard melody, a flute riff, and loads of electronic effects.

The Congener is beat-driven instrumental synth pop that surges throughout.

Powerdown, the ninth track, is an experimental piece featuring orchestra, improvised keyboards, and haunting sounds.

Perpetual Vision is a dreamy slice of psychedelic ambient, delicately layered, with effected guitars and programmed percussion.

Finally, Swimming Under Stars is an 11 minute ambient piece that can hypnotize you into a relaxed state.

A traditional CD version of The Driver's Companion are available through Rushton's preferred portal, BuyIowaArt.com.

Rushton's more recent album, Hum And Drift, is also available as a CD at BuyIowaArt.com, as well as in digital download format at iTunes and other online retailers.

Rushton plans to release a new album of music with bass player Jon Harnish later in 2006.
