New Haven, CT- Response, LLC, one of Connecticut’s fastest growing and most innovative, full service marketing agencies, has been awarded a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA–Southern CT Chapter) Mercury Award. The Mercury Awards recognizes outstanding work in the public relations, communications, and marketing professions. Response won in the Strategic Campaign–Marketing Products/ Services category for its 2005 work on Logitech’s “Beat Boomer” Football Challenge Program, an on-line consumer football game, which challenged individuals to select each weeks winning team for each NFL football game. New in 2005, each player would need to test their skills and football knowledge directly against ex-NFL great and legendary quarterback; Boomer Esiason. To win, each participant needed to “Beat Boomer” by having a higher weekly score the Mr. Esiason. By beating Boomer, participants where eligible to win great Logitech prize giveaways. Boomer Esiason, a critical addition to the game in 2005, submitted his picks each week and ended up placing in 125th place out of over 50,000 participants.

“We are proud to be recognized by the PRSA for our creative design work on Logitech’s “Beat Boomer” campaign,” said Peter Franz, President and Founder of Response. “This was an extremely creative, multi-faceted project that had a myriad of innovative marketing components to it. We are pleased that we were able to work with Logitech to penetrate a wide variety of marketing channels and successfully deliver strong results in terms of promotion awareness, game registrations, sales of Logitech’s Harmony Advanced Universal Remote and donations to the Boomer Esiason Foundation.”

The multi-faceted Logitech “Beat Boomer” campaign included event marketing programs, trade and consumer programs, regional television and print advertising, as well as radio and digital coverage.
The dual purpose of this campaign was to promote and drive sales of Logitech’s new
880 Harmony Remote as well as to increase contributions and awareness of the Boomer Esiason Foundation (BEF), an organization dedicated to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. Logitech is a global manufacturer of multi-media accessories for computers, gaming and television.

Response was honored at an awards ceremony hosted by the PRSA on June 8 at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut.
