San Francisco, Calif—Appellation America, the Internet wine portal, is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Gregutt to it its editorial staff. Gregutt will serve as Appellation America’s regional correspondent for the state of Washington and its diverse appellations spanning both sides of the Cascades.

THE TOP AUTHORITY ON WASHINTON WINES

Gregutt ranks as America’s top authority on the wines of Washington State, a region that has vaulted to the top ranks of American wine regions. He has covered wine for television, radio and print publications for twenty years. As one of the top experts on Northwestern wines Gregutt pens a weekly article on wine for the Seattle Times, writes monthly columns for the Spokane Spokesman Review and for Pacific Northwest Magazine and is a Contributing Editor for Wine Enthusiast Magazine as well as being a member of the magazine’s tasting panel.

“We’ve promised to assemble the finest collection of journalists in America,” says Adam Dial, managing editor of Appellation America,” and the addition of Paul helps us keep our word. Paul is clearly one of the North America’s premier wine writers and will allow us to provide cutting edge coverage of one of the most important wine regions on the continent.”

APPELLATION AMERICA EXTENDS COVERAGE OF NORTH AMERICAN WINE
In addition to providing Appellation America’s readers with wine recommendations, Gregutt will also delve into the world of Washington Wines, winemaking and terroir through features and interviews with the region’s top winemakers.

In the 1990s, Gregutt brought the wines of the Northwest into focus with his “Northwest Wines”. The must-have guidebook to the wineries of Oregon and Washington was praised by Robert Parker who called it “the most authoritative and consumer-oriented guide to the wines of Washington, Oregon and Idaho” and by Matt Kramer who noted it was “the first book about Northwest wines that doesn’t read as if it was either written by, or paid for by, the local wine industry.”

AppellationAmerica.com is a dynamic 5000+ page online publishing venture focusing its attention on the wines of North America from an appellation and terroir perspective. Its mission is to bring appellation consciousness to wine lovers and the industry.
