Bridal corsets not recommended! Bridal lingerie sits better beneath a wedding gown.

Many brides think of corsets to pull in those extra inches beneath their wedding dress. Corsets are not the ideal bridal lingerie due to their construction though, particularly obtrusive is the lacing that adorns the back of all true corsets.

A corset does make stunning outerwear however, and has the advantage of outerwear and underwear in one garment. It can be worn to other events in the future teamed with a different skirt as well. There are many styles to choose from in silks and brocades, trimmed with lace or plain.

Matched with a Victorian style petticoat and skirt, corsets can make a dramatic bridal outfit which is inexpensive. With an average corset from £110 to £180 and the same for the petticoat the cost is way below the many hundreds or thousands of pounds a bridal dress can set you back, and the wedding party will think you paid!

Corsets - outerwear not underwear!
