Created by Kangourouge, a Web agency based in Marseille, Proxidating offers the possibility to meet your dream date via your mobile phone. Compared to internet based online dating services, Proxidating provides a local service. After all, why go looking for love on the other side of the country when your dream date could be just across the street ?

This was the reasoning behind Sandrine Bulka’s and Matthieu Palmade’s (Kangourouge) innovative service : “Mobile phones are everywhere, so why not use them to connect like minded people?”

Simple to Use

The software developed by Kangourouge uses the Bluetooth connection, increasing present on the latest mobile phones, to create the initial contact. Bluetooth is a system which permits mobile phones to communicate over short distances, without using the mobile operators’ network and hence is completely free of charge. The distance over which communication is possible is about 15 metres, and this works anywhere: in the street, nightclub, fitness centre, bar…

All that is required to use the service is to download the Proxidating software (www.proxidating.com), install it on your mobile, activate the Bluetooth connection and fill in your profile. Fill in whether you’re male or female, whether you’re looking for a man or a woman, create a brief description of yourself and add your photo. Finished!

Proxidating works in the background and will make your mobile ring whenever you pass someone corresponding to your defined profile. Their photo and description will appear on your phone and then its up to you to decide whether or not to go and speak to them or to exchange text messages.

Great Expectations

The target audience for this service are the young, urban and connected. “The generation that has the latest mobile phones, all with Bluetooth functionality” confirms Matthieu Palmade. The Proxidating software is now available in a dozen languages and is being released in 20 countries, highlighting the ambitions of Kangourouge of Marseille. “We have completed the development of the new Proxidating website with an international framework” The site is multi-language and allows direct download to mobile from numerous countries. Kangourouge are now working on launching a Wap site.

Today, more than 25 models of Mobile phone are compatible with Proxidating, and within a few months almost all Bluetooth models will be. Kangourouge are already preparing Proxidating for the next generation of Bluetooth technology, capable of providing 100m coverage, and giving an even greater change of meeting your dream date.
