CINCINNATI, Ohio, July 30, 2006 — Members of the Hamilton National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Local 426 host a cornhole tournament to benefit the Greater Cincinnati Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

The Hamilton NALC Local 426 Cornhole Tournament takes place Sunday, August 6, beginning at 2 p.m. at Carl Dozier Memorial Park on State Route 177 in Hamilton. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and tournaments start at 2:00 p.m. The cost to compete is $20 per team.

As MDA’s national sponsor, NALC Local 426 fund-raises for MDA. This is a first cornhole fund-raiser for this chapter. The NALC hopes that the tournament will draw a good crowd of supporters and that they can conduct another tournament next year.

Funds raised by the NALC give MDA, a voluntary health agency, the means to continue providing direct services, research and professional and public health education to
children and adults with neuromuscular diseases in the Greater Cincinnati Area.

Free medical services are available at MDA’s clinics at the Aring Center for Neurology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Children’s Medical Center for individuals diagnosed with any one of the 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA. In addition, MDA is able to provide a summer camp tailored to the needs of children, from age 6 to 21, with muscular dystrophy.
