ColorPASS: Color Servers for Increased Workflow Control

Canon and EFI recently announced a selection of high end color servers designed to expand the range of graphics document and color workflow tools. The new ColorPASS-Z7500/Z7100/Z6100 servers feature speed, power and functionality to further enhance the workflow control in the graphic industry. The servers offer new productivity and color management aspects that include Variable Data Printing, security, job imposition, enhanced job management, mixed media management, scanning, and new drive features.

Feature Package:

The Graphic Arts Package, Premium Edition- This package is a standard for ColorPASS Z7500, and is optional for Z7100 and Z6100. It enables the users to create great color quality using the most advanced tools for color proofing and control. Although technologically sophisticated, the package nevertheless, answers the need for simple and reduced complexity in the workflow.

In addition, the new production tools provide users with the capability to produce complex documents at a faster turnaround time, with results that are accurate and precise. During the process, operator intervention is minimized while the full potential of the printer finishing options are maximized. Shortened turnaround time is made possible by reducing problems and repetitive workflows that may arise on the job.

The Fiery Impose Edition- This application enables entire documents to be edited and assembled quickly before RIP. This feature allows for the distinct quality of being able to create an unlimited number of new custom templates even without a platform, application, and file format. It also supports a wide variety of source documents, including VDP languages.

Command WorkStation- With its intuitive interface and centralized job management function, it provides a variety of tools for the users to further enhance productivity.

A Variable Data Printing Solution- It provides the most comprehensive, proven range of VDP languages, including industry standard PPML. Nevertheless, the workflow is consistent with VDP, as well as non-VDP, providing an easy-to-use workflow that even a first timer would not have trouble of using.

ColorPASS-Z7500 for Canon CLC 5100 and CLC 4000

The ColorPASS Z7500 allows users with easy handling of large, graphic-intensive files and variable data projects. Features include:

• Dual Intel® Xeon™ 3.2GHz processors; with 1.5GB RAM and two 160GB hard drives;

• Runs on Windows® XP Platform;

• Handles the most commonly used file formats including VDP and software such as Fiery® FreeForm™, PrintShop Mail, and PageFlex Persona;

• With Command WorkStation® 4.2 that allows users to preview print files, scale images to fit various paper sizes, and quickly track, edit and merge any number of jobs from one place;

• Comes with the Production Package that lets users schedule, prioritize, move and even stop jobs according to their specified time.;

• Accessories include an Advanced Controller Kit with monitor, keyboard and mouse.

ColorPASS-Z7100 for Canon CLC 5100 and CLC 4000

The ColorPASS-Z7100 server eases the process of managing multiple projects by allowing users to simplify viewing properties and managing jobs. Users may operate advanced job logs and preview PDF files and scale images to fit varied paper sizes> Similar to the Z7500, it can also easily track, edit and merge any number of jobs from one location. With its Schedule Printing feature, this software allows users to run each job according to their specified time. Other features allow users to apply simplex and duplex sheets in the same document; pull stocks from different paper sources; and output variable data projects.
