Painter Finds New Demand On Internet For Inexpensive Framed Prints

Artist Mark Rushton could never understand why paintings and framed prints cost so much.

"For the average home or office," says Rushton, "filling up wall space with beautiful images used to cost a lot of money. I hope my artistic contributions help change that perception."

Rushton has been painting for almost two decades, attended the Kansas City Art Institute, and been in numerous shows, but only in the past year has he been offering images of his paintings for sale via the internet.

Using the custom-printing services of CafePress.com (Rushton was one of the company's first store owners back in August of 1999), he has been adding more images via his web site, art.markrushton.com, and through Froogle. All prints are custom manufactured using archival inks and acid-free paper. Framed prints are matted and framed in a stylish black frame with plexiglass cover. Frames include complete backing. Frame size: 15" x 19".

Two new series of paintings have recently been made available. They are the "Red And Blue Microfiber" and "Floating Point" paintings. Each series has three new paintings in it. Images are visible at art.markrushton.com

Rushton normally paints using acrylics on synthetic paper, although some recent additions, including his "Black Celebration" series of 12 prints from original paintings, are acrylic on traditional paper.

The mission, as Rushton sees it, is to provide quality prints of original artworks at very affordable prices. All of Rushton's current prints are available for under $50 before shipping.
