Interlochen names new trustees

INTERLOCHEN, MI – Interlochen has named five new members to its Board of Trustees:

Bill Alldredge, of Glen Arbor, is a Senior Advisor with the Chicago offices of Robert W. Baird. A regular visitor to concerts and other Interlochen events for 45 years, Alldredge also volunteers with the Glen Arbor Art Association. Alldredge was formerly CFO of Newell-Rubbermaid Corporation.

Ralph J. Cerny, of Traverse City, is the former President of Munson Medical Center and an active musician who plays flute and piccolo in two ensembles.
Two of Cerny’s three children attended Interlochen Arts Camp. In addition to his service with Interlochen, Cerny also serves on the boards of the Northwest Michigan Surgery Center, Munson Home Health and the First Congregational Church.

Bruce Coppock, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, is the President and Managing Director of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. The father of a Camp alumnus, Coppock has a long and distinguished career in the arts. He performed as a cellist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra for twenty years and has since held numerous leadership positions with other orchestras and arts organizations in St. Paul, New York City and St. Louis.

Carl M. Defaria, of Maple City, is retired after working as Vice President for the Federal Paper Board Company. Defaria is also the father of four children including two Academy graduates and one Camp alumna. A jazz enthusiast, he also enjoys black and white photography and collecting paintings and sculptures. Defaria is also on the board of directors at Penchant Software in Minneapolis.

James Spica, of Grosse Pointe Farms, is the Senior Trusts and Estates Counsel with Warner Norcross and Judd of Southfield, Michigan. Spica is an alumnus of both Camp and Academy where he studied music composition. He has five children, three of whom have attended Camp or Academy and his wife is also an Academy alumna. Spica also serves on the Boards of the Michigan Legacy Art Park, the Vestry of St. Michaels Episcopal Church of Grosse Pointe, the Roeper School and the Grosse Pointe Academy.
