Marriott Marquis Hotel In Atlanta Starts Phase Two of Revolutionary Renovation

ATLANTA, Ga., – August, 2006 – The Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel today announced plans to begin phase two of an approximate $100 million revolutionary renovation and repositioning. Phase one, a $38 million dollar enhancement to all hotel guestrooms and suites was recently completed, and beginning August 2006, all public areas and meeting space will undergo a comprehensive makeover giving this downtown Atlanta hotel an entirely new look and feel. The 1,675-room property is the largest hotel in Atlanta and is owned by Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE:HST), and managed by Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR).

Once renovations are complete, guests arriving at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel will pull up to a striking porte cochere and enter the soaring, 50-story lobby, that will feature a dazzling five-story acrylic glass sail, an eye-catching focal point that also serves as the entryway to the “classically cool” Pulse cocktail lounge.

The electrifying transformation of the hotel continues with the addition of 40,000 square-feet of meeting space, bringing the grand total to an impressive 160,000 square-feet.
