August 14, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
London, England—UK based Sue Merchant is a product of her environment. While living in the South West of England, she received plenty of exposure to music and poetry through her father. That turned out to be a good influence as a lifetime of love for the arts found its place and meaning through a culmination of 10 tracks on her new release Fool.

Sue Merchant is a self-professed poet with a guitar, as many people in folk music are. Legendary performers inspire most artists that find themselves driven to succeed and Sue is no exception. She has found motivation and insight into her craft through legendary performers such as Joni Mitchell, Melanie, Joan Baez, and others cut from the same cloth.

The new release Fool is destined to receive accolades from the media sector and most importantly from current listeners eager to listen, which in turn will create awareness in a large potential audience waiting to discover her distinct art form. The album is already shaping up like an independent release that is sure to be a classic of the genre. In her own typically humble opinion, the title track is the best she has ever written and certainly, those that are familiar with the essence of folk music will agree. It comes as no surprise that it recently won 1st place honors in the UK Songwriting Contest for the Folk/Country genre.

Collectively the album is a montage of gut level feelings, emotions, and real life situations expressed intelligently through well thought out lyrics via beautiful melodies and rhythms. Sue has an atmospheric vocal style that has an uncanny way of bringing the words to life, which brings the message home effectively to the listener.

Fool is a shot, straight from the heart from an artist that pulls no punches. The CD is on Bandit Records and available to sample and purchase on the Sue Merchant website or CD Baby.
