Kari Peters, 28, has set up www.entrepreneurisland.com to invite budding entrepreneurs to join by registering for one of the 100 places available.

When the 100th member joins, the race to raise a collective £2 million will begin. Each entrepreneur has 100 days to promote their idea and raise as much money as they can on their page. Every week, 10 entrepreneurs will go head to head to be voted into the final 10 by the public.

Kari had been home sick with flu when the idea struck: Would it be possible to become an entrepreneur and help other people do the same through the same idea? Within 2 days she had created a treasure hunt and designed entrepreneurisland.com.

The plan is to create an entrepreneurial community where 100 young people can promote their ideas and through advertising space on their page, raise start-up capital to launch their own businesses. The first treasure will be revealed when the 100th member joins, the second will be awarded to the top entrepreneur voted through by the public and the third treasure will be uncovered by one lucky treasure hunter who cracks the weekly clues.

Speaking about entrepreneurisland.com, Kari Peters commented,

“Millions of people share my dream to become an entrepreneur and to raise my first million by the time I turn 30. With experience in managing advertising campaigns across international magazines and on the web, I knew entrepreneurisland.com had a chance to turn the dream into a reality. This offers people the opportunity to promote their idea, attract investors and raise start-up capital to cover the costs of registering, kitting out and advertising their new business.”
