A no-tech talk about Web site usability will be presented at the HSMAI 17th Annual Affordable Meetings session, Wednesday, September 6, 2006, Washington, DC.

Judy Colbert, the Web site Usability Mentor, will cover more than four dozen usability best practices for meeting planners with examples of the good and bad pulled from meeting planner sites.

This seminar is for meeting planners who want to communicate with their IT personnel in a non-technical way to make their Web sites more compelling and user-friendly. Planners don't have to know a wiki from a mash-up. This seminar offers aeasy-to-implement suggestions for making Web sites a better tool for marketing meetings and shows how to clearly communicate design wishes to an IT staff. A checklist is provided of the essential elemnts that should be assessed to ensure easy usability by site visitors. Items include registration forms, benefits to sponsors, and increasing turnout for meetings and events.

"You are sure to convince those who visit your site that they not only want to take part in your meeting, but also that they need to attend," says Colbert.

The Affordable Meetings gathering also will see the release of Colbert's two newest books, "Hotel and Resort Marketing Ideas" and "Destionation Marketing Ideas," available at the conference's book store.
