THEY improv to double the benefit with two shows for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 'Team in Training' Program

August 26, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
The shows feature 90 minutes of improvised comedy utilizing the best comedic talent to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in their mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families through their Team in Training (TNT) program.

TNT is the world's largest endurance sports training program, and the leading fundraising campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year, TNT will train 30,000 people - from novice to seasoned athlete - to run or walk a marathon or half marathon, cycle a century ride or complete an Olympic distance triathlon. As part of this effort they raise money to sponsor their efforts. More information on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can be found at their website, www.lls.org. More information about the Team in Training program can be found at their website at www.teamintraining.org.

The show on Wednesday, September 6th at 8pm at the Improv at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will feature the cast members of THEY improv providing non-stop comedy for 90 minutes in a top notch no-holds barred show. Tickets are available by calling the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society directly at (954) 961-3234.

The show on Tuesday, September 12th at 8pm will feature a special two for one show. Two troupes, THEY improv and MOD27, will be joining together on stage at the Palm Beach Improv in a show featuring the top performers that South Florida has to offer. MOD27 is one of the premier improv troupes anywhere and has headlined improv festivals across the country. Beyond that, they are local to Palm Beach and perform normally in Lake Worth. More information about Mod27 is available on their website at www.mod27.com. This 90 minute show will leave the audiences laughing and crying for more. Tickets are available by calling the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society directly at (561) 775-9954x11.

These two-of-a-kind comedy shows have all the tickets being sold by the TNT volunteers to be applied towards their fundraising goals. For tickets to the shows, including donations needed to obtain tickets, contact the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society directly at:

"We're happy to be able to find a way that we can actually help make a difference," said THEY improv director Todd Rice. "The daunting task of fighting Leukemia seems way too big. These volunteers are taking the steps needed to find a cure and put up the good fight. Our improv shows might not be able to stop cancer, but we can help the people who are working to make a difference, and make them laugh."

THEY improv provides their Comedy With A Cause program to help local charities find the recognition and fundraising they need, while not one penny goes to the improv troupe for their performance. These shows have helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for local charities and awareness for their causes. If you would like to find out how you can help the Comedy With A Cause program, you should contact THEY improv directly.
