WESTPORT, MASS. August 23, 2006 — The Westport Harley Owners Group is gearing up for their annual Ride for Life, a charity motorcycle run followed by an evening of food and entertainment, to benefit the local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. On Sunday, September 3, the 12th Annual Westport HOG Ride for Life will take off from Seekonk Speedway, Route 6 in Seekonk, Massachusetts.

Registration for the ride will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. that morning at Seekonk Speedway. The ride itself will begin promptly at noon. Bikers will continue along the ride route, ending in a new location this year—at Holy Ghost Grounds on Allen’s Neck Road in South Dartmouth.

Following the Ride for Life, riders will enjoy a 50/50 raffle, vendors, door prizes, food, and a cash bar. The Timeline Show Band from New York will provide entertainment, playing rock and roll music from the ‘50s through the ‘80s.

Bikers who wish to participate in the Ride for Life are asked to make a $10 donation to benefit MDA. Funds raised in the Ride for Life directly benefit people living with neuromuscular disease in the greater Rhode Island area. Last year’s Ride for Life raised $12,000 for MDA, with over 1,000 riders participating in the event.
