BROOKS COLLEGE HOSTS ASIFA-HOLLYWOOD’S PANEL DISCUSSION OF ANIMATION ON AUGUST 23

Dedicated to the success of the future animators in its student body, Brooks is offering its students and the public an opportunity to learn about the history of animation and the future of this vast and ever-changing industry. The panel discussion will be hosted by Jerry Beck of ASIFA-Hollywood. Topics of the discussion will include homage to the “greats” of the past, as well as a look into the opportunities of the future.

Also on the agenda for the evening is a screening of: “Treasures from the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive,” an exhibition of animation provided by ASIFA, and an exhibit of Brooks College student work.

The event will start promptly at 6 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 and is open to the public. Brooks College is located at 4825 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., Long Beach, CA. 90804. As a host for the event, Brooks College will be donating $1,000 to ASIFA to help preserve the history of animation.
