Tips for Clearing Out Fast
1. Gather 3 boxes and garbage bags. Mark them “Keep”, “Give”, “DO”, and“Toss. Start in any room and begin going through every item. Decide quickly whether you will Keep an item, Throw it away or Give it away. Some items will need to be returned, fixed, or finished. Put those items in the DO box.
2. For one month, toss out or give away 5 -10 things every day from your “junk room.” By the end of a month, the place should have a lot more space.
3. Round-up all papers into 2 boxes and a garbage bag. One box is for papers to save and file. The next box holds papers you need to do something to like call, pay, use, etc. File the box of papers to save immediately or put the box in a closet and plan to file the papers January 2. Put the box of papers to do near your desk or on it so you can take care of urgent matters.
4. Set aside one hour a day to declutter until the holidays. Just think how much you can get done in 30-hours.
