The world’s largest nightclub, Privilege in Ibiza, Spain set the scene for the climax of DJ Times, America’s Best DJ award. In less than two months over 20,000 unique fans and followers lent their collective support to the top 75 nominated DJs, which were selected by DJ Times the industry bible since 1988. The fans chose, one of New York City’s greatest DJs, Jonathan Peters, who was in Ibiza to accept the award on behalf of his fans.

“I am truly honored,” a humbled Peters explained, “to have been chosen by the fans, because they make all of this possible. I was nominated with some amazing DJs and we all have mutual respect for each other and our work. I truly feel blessed that I can make a living, doing what I love to do.”

While he has greatly enjoyed an iconic status in New York City, this award has elevated the status of a local legend to a national treasure in dance music. Jonathan Peters was chosen America’s Best DJ over the most talented and respected DJs in America. American DJs have long paced the genre of dance music and Jonathan Peters has been groomed and primed for the top spot with experience and musical aptitude rarely exhibited and even more scarcely duplicated.

Jonathan Peters has developed a huge following from his modest beginnings on the scene in New York City. He is most widely recognized for his legendary marathon sets and huge turnouts. In New York City Jonathan has set attendance records in many mega venues like Exit and legendary nightclub The Roxy. Although he has also entertained huge crowds at concert venues like the PNC Bank Arts Center in NJ, and Jones Beach amphitheatre to crowds in excess of 20,000 people.

Some of the greatest successes created by Peters are Whitney Houston’s underground mix “My Love is Your Love,” which achieved triple platinum status. Jonathan Peters, since creating Deeper Records, his independent label has been the creative force behind some of the biggest hits in dance music over the last 10 years. Also Jonathan wrote and created Billboard #1 Dance hit, “All This Time,” featuring Sylver. Others include Reina’s “No One’s Gonna Change You” and Amber’s, “Above the Clouds.”

Being named America’s Best DJ is hardly a culmination of accomplishments but, rather an acknowledgement of what many insiders and his relentless fan base have overstated for years. Now as the mainstream revelers begin to line up, Jonathan is preparing to bring his music and his movement to another level of success.
