Charleston, SC – Hawaii Discount, an Internet based Hawaii Vacation and Travel company announced that its next generation e-commerce site will utilize the DotNetNuke framework, an open source web portal application that runs on Microsoft Windows servers.

DotNetNuke is a popular, secure, feature filled, extensible technology for quickly delivering a strong feature set to Hawaii Discount’s ever-increasing customer base. It was chosen over other portals available in the market because of its ease of customization says webmaster Kim Turok, owner of development firm Serrated Software which wrote the custom modules that power the next generation Hawaii Discount website.

“DotNetNuke can create a complete website right out of the box, but perhaps its greatest strength lies in its ease of customization. There is a well-documented procedure for adding new functionality giving any .Net developer an almost limitless framework to build upon,” says Turok.

The new Hawaii Discount site utilizes 12 customized components written specifically to drive e-commerce sites inside DotNetNuke.
