TSTC students reap the benefits of vendor-neutral anti-cyber crime courses

September 08, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
IT training company Tshukudu Technology College (TSTC), which specialises in providing ‘fast track’ certification in Microsoft, Cisco and Citrix software for network and systems managers, has delighted its students by adding courses leading to the qualifications of Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI).

These short courses have been developed by the USA-based EC-Council and its major distributors in Europe, SSR-I, the specialist cyber crime fighters based in the UK.

“The CEH courses are key to understanding how to fight cyber crime effectively,” explained TSTC’s Emile Kok. “Completing the CEH course successfully certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of ethical hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective.

“The CHFI course enables organisations to identify a path that an intruder took over the network; reveal intermediate intrusions and provide leads and corroborating evidence for disciplinary action,” he continued.

“The SSR-i/EC-Council courses are the ‘crème de la crème’ in the computer security world because they are ‘vendor-neutral’ – which adds to their objectivity. We’re delighted to be offering what is, at present, the highest standard of computer security courses available anywhere.”

Emile Kok explained: “Network and system security is a major issue for every organisation – from the smallest to the largest multinational. Consequently, we had run some Microsoft security courses but we have found that our students value the objectivity of the SSR-i courses.”

Computers and networks are the backbone of a modern company. Without a network, there is no email, no database and, without IT, no business continuity.

This means that network and system managers need, among ‘conventional’ IT skills, the ability to identify and prevent attempts at cyber crime – both from within and outside their networks and systems.

“Operating on the principles of professionalism and speed, TSTC provides a wide range of IT-related training courses to produce better trained engineers for a competitive price,” said Emile Kok. “It is important to give technicians the skills development that they need in order to keep them motivated, up-to-date in terms of product knowledge and know-how - and keep them able to meet their organisation’s objectives efficiently and effectively.”

Rajive Kapoor, of SSR-i, said: “We’re delighted that TSTC has joined the growing number of training specialists, including academic institutions throughout Europe that are offering anti-cyber crime courses and qualifications. This is an important step towards providing the products and services that all organisations need in order to protect themselves from the consequences of cyber crime.”

About Tshukudu Technology College (TSTC)
Founded in 1999, IT training company Tshukudu Technology College (TSTC) is a privately owned organisation and has branches in the Netherlands (Veenendaal), South Africa (Cape Town) and Netherlands Antilles (Curaçao). It helps some 500 students a year to become qualified - mostly in Microsoft applications (MCSA/MCSE with specialisations in Messaging or Security).

TSTC began as a unit of a outsourcing company to train IT personnel (network- and systems engineers / managers) in a refreshing new way. It concentrated on key issues: return on investment, certification and timesaving. This resulted in TSTC developing a unique way of training: TSTC Fast Tracks. This involves a combination of self-study, instructor led training and certification.

TSTC Fast Track is the only European IT training regime where trainees are not only guaranteed to pass but some 85% to100% of trainees achieve the required pass mark within weeks. TSTC stands for professionalism and speed, which results in better trained engineers for a competitive price. TSTC specialises in Fast Tracks with CISCO, COMPTIA and MICROSOFT Certification.
