Saint Lucy’s of Syracuse is named 2006 CNY Charity of the Year

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — The Morrisville State College Entrepreneurship Institute (MSCEI) recently named St. Lucy’s of Syracuse as the 2006 CNY Charity of the Year. St. Lucy's provides over forty ministries including; Food Pantry, Christmas Gift Giving, the Agape Shoppe, SHARE, ACTS and many other form of neighborhood outreach. St. Lucy’s shares their space with the West Side Learning Center, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Huntington Family Center, the Altamont Project, Second Olivet and the Spanish Action League among others. St. Lucy’s was also recognized earlier this year by the CNY Inter-Religious Council as the 2006 Faith Community of the Year.

MSCEI is proud to recognize St. Lucy’s for their community efforts. As part of this award, St. Lucy’s will receive a complete website design, donated by MSCEI students, as well as free web-hosting for one year.

These organizations provide our communities with assistance when it is needed most. Whether it is in times of disaster, or when someone just a needs a helping hand, these organizations are there to save the day.”

MSCEI is a student-run organization which provides local businesses, non-profit agencies and charitable organizations with opportunities to partner with qualified students studying information technology. Students gain real-world experience while earning an income providing services such as creating customized Web sites, e-commerce sites, creating advertising and marketing plans, computer network services, and basic business consulting.

MSCEI also offers free community workshops.
