Grove Mill Riesling 2004 had won the trophy for the best regional Riesling under £10 at the Decanter World Wine Awards in London last month. At the awards dinner in London last week it was also announced that Grove Mill Riesling had won the International trophy for Rieslings under £10 beating all other Rieslings from around the world. This final trophy took the total number of trophies collected for Grove Mill wines to five.

The Grove Mill Riesling was described by Sarah Kemp, editor of "Decanter”, as “head and shoulders above all other wines tasted in its class”.

“This is a great honour for Grove Mill, Marlborough and New Zealand. Riesling was the first wine I made at Grove Mill and is my personal favourite. It grows and produces superb wines in many great regions around the world. To top them all really validates the years of belief we’ve had growing this variety in Marlborough.” said Dave Pearce

The New Zealand Wine Company’s CEO Rob White said “a win for our Grove Mill Riesling on top of Grove Mill Sauvignon Blanc winning ‘best in world’ is not only great news for us but also for all Marlborough. The region is renowned for its Sauvignon Blanc but wins like this make the world take a second look at all those other varietals that Marlborough produces so well like Riesling Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris.”
