(LOS ANGELES, CA) – The sound of revving engines vibrates through your body, and your heart races with anticipation to see which car will cross the finish line first. This is not a NASCAR race, it's a feature race at the NHRA Speedway. And who’s in the driver’s seat? Nicole Lyons, as she participates in her twenty-four race competitions, which also include the PSCA Racing Series, the So Cal Super Street, and the Pontiac Drag Days Series. Lyons makes an effort to keep her racecars at their finest if she plans on achieving her dream of racing in the BUSCH series at NASCAR. There has been bidding discussion around her becoming a new development driver for a NASCAR Team.In March 2006, she attended her season opener of the NHRA Lucas Oil Series Division 7 in Phoenix, Arizona. She became a finalist even though she was driving a newly designed Chevy engine which she had never raced before. When she’s not on the track, Lyons is restoring and enhancing engines in her Cole Muscle Car shop that she owns and operates with her husband Damion Lyons. Nicole built her last engine, a 565 Dart Big M with 1,100 horsepower. Chevy Rumble Magazine glorified this engine because it is currently the highest horsepower single carb engine they have ever seen.
Her late father, street racer Jack Davis, taught her the drive to be a winner. Daily visits to the racetrack taught her the mechanics of racing. As daddy’s little girl, he left her a 1.5 million dollar collection of 13 rare muscle cars, and a genuine dedication that continues to grow. You can catch Lyons driving her Super Comp/Super Gas and Super Street 67' Firebird with a big block 540 Merlin II with 900 horsepower, a recent addition to her collection.
Competition is forewarned not to be misled by this pretty face which has graced the red carpet at the 2006 BET Awards and the pages of Tint Magazine. As for other ambitions off the speedway, Nicole Lyons plans to launch her very own television series “The DNA of Racing”, which is currently in post production. The show will revolve around Lyons’ race competitions and car shop. Viewers are promised an adrenaline rush and a new perspective of racing as they follow along as Nicole Lyons achieves history in the making.
Nicole Lyons can be seen at her next NHRA race on August 6, 2006 at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA.
