September 18, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
NEW YORK–The TFD Records, the burgeoning independent label, is
readying to debut its first releases. "With the artists we have, we are going to put the TFD Records on the charts immediately," says Hakim
Taylor-AKA-HK, CEO/founder of The TFD (which stands for The Taylor Family Dynasty).

Just a year old, The TFD Records is set to make history with its roster
of hip hop and R&B artists. The TFD, a New York based, full-service record label under the astute leadership of HK has emerged and is well on its way to fast becoming one of the finest indie labels in the nation. The label is presently fielding several distribution and production deals. Any company that becomes aligned with The TFD will instantly feel the passion HK has for his label and talent.

In fact, it was his love for music that led HK to launch The TFD. In
addition to The TFD, HK is a successful entrepreneur and owner of GMC Management. The success of the management company under HK's leadership for the past 5 yrs has allowed him to interact and work with major and independent record labels. It was excellent training ground and prepared HK for his own label venture.

The TFD Records has not yet released any albums, but the buzz on the street is primed for a TFD release. In fact, The TFD will make its debut with a DVD from Mad Linx, the Host of the popular BET show "Rap City". The DVD entitled "On the Grind" is slated for national release on September 26 th 2006. The DVD is a behind the scenes look at Mad Linx's life as an international DJ and TV host, as well as a tutorial for up and coming DJs about life on the road.

Although TFD will make a splash with its DVD debut, The TFD is looking
forward to releasing its debut artist, Sean Hunter. The hip hop world has been anxiously awaiting the rapper's highly anticipated release, T.I.M.E. — The Image Means Everything. "Being in the industry, I hear new artists come and go everyday and I can have my pick of just about any CD I want. But as soon as that Sean Hunter joint drops, I am headed straight to the store to cop it," says Octavious Crouch, A&R Universal Records. But before T.I.M.E hits the shelves, the first single "Work" (which is already appearing on mix-tapes and in clubs across the country), will hit the airwaves.

The TFD also will soon be introducing the debut albums of Sance and Aishah Pae. With artists like Sean Hunter and a debut DVD with an internationally recognized personality, the future is more than bright for The TFD. What we are witnessing is the birth of one of the major independent labels, it's an empire in the making guided and led by
visionary Hakim Taylor.
