The telemarketing firms brief is to help other businesses to grow by telemarketing or appointment generation, and designing growth strategies.

Turnover has grown from £170,000 in its first full financial year of 2004 to 2005 and then to £1m plus for 2005 to 2006. For this current financial year the prediction is more than £2m. And Managing Director Paul Thomas, 24, said the firm could expand to £22m turnover by 2011.

He has put the amazing growth down to the skills of the team has put together and now wants to let more businesses know of the firm's success by entering The News Business Excellence Awards in both the Business Of The Year category and Business Personality Of The Year.

Mr. Thomas said: 'I would attribute growth to high client retention which I see due to good quality staff and good retention of staff so that clients get consistency with their campaigns. The good thing for our clients is because they've seen the growth we've had they know what we are talking about'.

The firm started life in February 2004, when it moved to the Portsmouth Technopole, in Kingston Crescent, and has between 140 to 150 active clients on its books. Market Makers offers a full-range marketing experience for other firms, from telemarketing, direct marketing, lead generation and the internet marketing.

Most of its clients have experienced growth of some description once they received the Market Makers treatment. The company says that one of its most prestigious clients is Barclays Bank because they don't usually outsource to telemarketing firms. Growth has been with banking and IT clients.

Mr. Thomas said: 'There are so many companies out there who have a great product but they have no idea how to market it.'
