Destination Properties Co., Ltd. announces its acquisition of Felix Resort, a 125 room beachfront resort in Karon Beach, Phuket. The property will be branded with an international operator yet to be announced.

The resort has 125 rooms with beachfront sea views situated at Karon Beach, which is the second largest of Phuket's principal tourist beaches and one of the most popular. The entire resort property is now being refurbished into a unique family resort destination. The renovation is to be finished by early November 2006.

Karon Beach is the most up-scale of Phuket's beaches and once re-opened, the property will become a family themed 4 star resort featuring a 1960’s style rock & roll diner as its main restaurant serving great hamburgers, french fries, pizza, and the bottom-less ice cream machine. The Resort will also feature the Siam Adventure Club, PlayStation Zone, Kids Club, and an Outdoor Poolside Movie Theatre.

For Kids, the Resort will offer various themed hotel rooms – including the Spaceship room themed and Underwater World room. The Resort will also feature a huge Kids Club, an X-Box Video Zone, an adventurous water-slide, and a specialty “kids-only” restaurant. The Resort has created the bottom-less ice cream machine providing free soft ice cream cones to kids all day long. Ernie the Elephant is the Resort’s mascot leading daytime fun activities for kids at the Siam Adventure Club.

For Mom and Dad, the resort offers fashionable contemporary style rooms, spa treatment beds around the pool, World News Coffee, a great coffee shop with latest editions of newspapers from all over the world. Also included are the fitness and internet centers.

Gary Murray, CEO of Destination Properties says that, “the Resort is one of a kind in Phuket, with an outstanding family program for our guests. We have designed the Resort in a way that we deliver what families are looking for in a great holiday vacation. Whether it is our 1950’s style rock & roll diner, our themed hotel rooms, or our kids-only restaurant – this will be a great place for families”
