September 27, 2006 (London, UK) - The new issue of Bluff Europe, the European version of America’s #1 poker magazine, hits shelves now with full coverage of this year’s incredible World Series of Poker. Bringing the thrill of poker to Europe, Bluff Europe’s editors spoke with the best players at this year’s Main Event, including controversial new World Champion, Jamie Gold.

Gold tells Bluff Europe how he bulldozed through the field of 8,773 players with his loose and aggressive style, gathering a massive chip stack in the process. Having watched him take on and beat some of the world’s best players, Bluff Europe caught up with Jamie the evening he took the title, in his palatial suite (sometimes used by Elton John) while he was already fielding calls for book and movie deals.

Away from the Main Event, we preview hot new poker movie Lucky You, directed by Oscar ™ winner Curtis Hanson and starring Drew Barrymore, Eric Bana and top pros including Sammy Farha and Barry Greenstein. Can Huck (Bana), meet his demons — his father (Robert Duvall) and win the girl (Barrymore)? And how will he fair in the WSOP? Bluff Europe spoke with Drew and Eric about their experiences on set and they’re poker skills.

Michael Caselli, editor Bluff Europe, adds: “The World Series of Poker this year was beyond incredible. Jamie Gold’s aggressive style left us all with a lot to think about. Catching up with him was great fun and our readers are going to love what he has to say. As for Lucky You, the industry is going to be pumped when they get to see this movie. It will finally be the undeniable testament to poker’s place in mainstream popular culture.”

There are also guest appearances from Chip Reese, Andy Bloch, Daniel Negreanu, along with regulars Phil “Unabomber” Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Tilly and Mike Caro (“The Mad Genius of Poker”).
