September 28, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Toronto, ON and Philadelphia, PA , September 28, 2006 - Longview Solutions, a leading provider of Corporate Performance Management (CPM) solutions, announced today the acquisition of Runservicenet Limited, based in London, England, which has developed a unique performance management focused Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) development platform known as DecisionX. The acquisition will allow Longview to further optimize its technology architecture and accelerate the development and delivery of its strategic product vision.

“The whole area of performance management (PM) software is evolving, and the flexibility of the architecture is becoming more important as customer requirements mature,” said Kathleen Wilhide, Research Director of BPM and Compliance at IDC, a leading provider of global IT research and advice. “A services oriented architecture (SOA) facilitates the flexibility to enable organizations to build more robust performance management processes that integrate with operations and optimize decision support. In the longer term, basing performance management solutions on a SOA will become the standard, and Longview is making an early and very strategic move to position itself for continuing performance management success.”

Runservicenet’s code base will be integrated with Longview’s market leading CPM platform, resulting in a product architecture that will enable Longview to seamlessly integrate with other enterprise applications, develop new products and enhance existing functionality to fully leverage the power of CPM. The resulting Longview Performance Management Platform will provide significant advantages to Longview customers, including flexible applications that can be defined and developed based on customer-specific business processes, faster implementation times and more flexibility to incorporate additional functionality. The acquisition will also enable Longview to expand its product portfolio, create new partnering opportunities and expand into new market segments.

Service Oriented Architecture is changing the way organizations deploy and manage enterprise business applications by delivering incremental, standards-based solutions that are built on a foundation of re-configurable software services that emphasize interoperability, real-time adaptation and business process management. Longview’s Performance Management Platform will use this SOA architecture as a foundation for integration and development of new, complementary technologies.

“We believe that the acquisition of Runservicenet positions Longview to deliver performance management solutions in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), which benefits both IT and end users,” said Craig Schiff, President and CEO of BPM Partners. “Users should expect to see even greater interoperability and faster delivery of new capabilities from Longview and its partners.”

“Longview is recognized as a visionary and technology leader in corporate performance management,” said Mark E. Burton, President and CEO of Longview. “The Runservicenet acquisition extends this leadership position by allowing Longview to rapidly deliver added capabilities and strengthened functionality aligned with the needs of our diverse and distinguished customer base.”

The acquisition has closed and full technology integration is underway. The financial terms of the acquisition will not be publicly disclosed.
