The Centre on Philanthropy announced today that it has launched a new web site designed to provide useful, easy-to-find tools and information for Bermuda's Third Sector.

The development of the web site has been overseen by strategic consultant Elizabeth Walker-Sobhani and has been designed and executed by Maven Concepts - www.mavenconcepts.com.

Located at www.centreonphilanthropy.org, The Centre's web site provides an overview of its programmes, outlines its mission and vision and enables the development and sustenance of the island's Third Sector through communication.

Highlights of the new site include:

- An Events Calendar, accessible for updating and review by members of the public
- A Knowledge Centre, with over 300 articles and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for donors, non-profit organizations, and volunteers
- A Non-Profit Directory, that includes profiles on 200 Bermuda-based non-profit organizations with more information on additional non-profit organizations being added on a regular basis
- A Donor Best Practices Guide, which helps donors make funding decisions based on current best practices

"We are very pleased with the way the site has turned out," said Mrs. Walker-Sobhani. "Maven Concepts has taken our objectives and applied them in such a way that we now have a rich, vibrant web site with current information that will be of value to the members of Bermuda's Third Sector.

"Given the technology that most of us use on a daily basis, it's imperative that an organization like The Centre on Philanthropy helps to link organizations and individuals with a common set of goals. A functional and responsive web site is one important way in which The Centre can provide useful support to Bermuda's Third Sector."

The mission of The Centre on Philanthropy is to lead the Bermuda community in building an effective, efficient and sustainable third sector by: advancing knowledge, skills and performance, fostering effective partnerships, creating a unified voice for the sector, and supporting and increasing volunteerism.
