September 30, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
30 September 2006:Torry Harris Business Solutions, a leading provider of IT services with core focus on middleware technologies, today announced capability to provide global enterprises with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Implementation Solutions. With this announcement, Torry Harris Business Solutions will join a group of niche global players in the SOA space who hold expertise in implementation services.

Further to the growing and expanding customer requirements, Torry Harris is offering its new tailor made implementation solutions to enterprises in the networked economy. The company has recently announced a new specialized cell consisting of experts in the areas of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and OSS (Open Source Software). THBS has a separate R&D division headed by the CTO of the company to deliver research on the latest offerings in the Open Source Software space and offer cost-effective alternatives by combining the strengths of SOA and Open Source.

Further to the announcement Mr. Arnab Ghosh, Chief Technical Officer, Torry Harris Business Solutions, said “The Implementation Services in SOA at Torry Harris, is a natural progression from our years of experience in the middleware segment. Being an early player in the SOA space and by positioning ourselves as vendor neutral, we are now setting ourselves for a new level of growth trajectory in the Industry”.

Adding to the comment, Ms. Shuba Sridhar, Regional Technical Manager (Europe) stated that SOA is redefining the way organizations view their IT architecture. Torry Harris is committed to SOA and is making rapid progress in the implementation space, since SOA concepts are a natural evolution from distributed computing and middleware, which have been our core strengths.

The company is structured into Business Units (BU’s), which now function as independent profit/cost centers. The SOA cell would work closely with each BU to ensure the availability of a large pool of highly skilled SOA implementation experts.

The skill-sets of the personnel in each BU, working on SOA projects could broadly be classified into the areas of XML & related technologies, SOAP (its characteristics and linkages with WSDL), ESB technology and Orchestration languages.

A few other initiatives in the SOA space by Torry Harris has been to come up with certain innovative programs and material to spread SOA awareness. The R&D team also contributes on the best practices and tools available in the market after a thorough analysis.

THBS has already implemented major international projects using the SOA approach for government agencies in the Middle East and a credit insurance major in Netherlands. ‘Implementation Services’ offered by Torry Harris include component design, development, testing and governance.

About SOA and OSS:

SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) provides patterns for design, development, deployment and management of a loosely coupled business application infrastructure. In this framework, business functionality is published, discovered, and consumed as part of a business ecosystem of network-aware and reusable technical and business services.

OSS (Open Source Software) is software for which the underlying programming code is available to the users so that they may read it, make changes to it, and build new versions of the software incorporating their changes.
