Social Care Book Seller Branches out into Social Care Gifts and Clothing to support ‘Not-for-Profit’ resource for students, adoption and foster carers. Indibooks Social Care Books Online has branched out into Indibooks Social Care Gifts and Clothing through the Spreadshop platform. The Indibooks website, which started earlier this year provides used and new books for those studying social work and social care. The webmaster specialises in fostering and looked after children, but the resource covers other areas of social care such as mental health, counselling, residential care and adoption. There is information on site about becoming a foster carer and links to free resources such as leaflets on children’s emotional welfare. Indibooks Webmaster informs us: "Indibooks Gifts and Clothing sells T-shirts, tote bags and other items with designs and slogans, to encourage people to take pride in and support social care and fostering." Profits from the sales go towards supporting the Indibooks Social Care Books Online resource. As an incentive to try the site, Indibooks is offering anyone buying a book from http://www.indibooks.co.uk from now until the 8th December, the chance to be entered into a draw to win a free ‘StandUp4SocialCare’ Tote bag from the Indibooks Gifts and Clothing Range. Buyers can also save money through Indibooks’ Affiliate programme.

The site is also featuring a ‘Letter from Kenya’ which is an account of the experiences of a UK volunteer worker supporting young people in Kenya. She gives an account of her first impressions on visiting a ‘school’ in a poverty stricken area and the work the volunteers do to support the local community, many of whom go hungry themselves, but give their time and expertise to support their local community. To read more and follow her progress, visit www.indibooks.co.uk and check out the ‘Letter from Kenya’ section.
