Touch of Color has pledged to contribute a portion of every family portrait sale to PPA Charities, which has chosen Operation Smile as its charitable partner. According to Pennsylvania photographer Ann Monteith, Chairman of the Board of Professional Photographers of America, “October is an ideal time for families to have their portraits created, because the holiday season is just around the corner. Few gifts are appreciated as much a portraits of family members. And when families participate in Family Portrait Month, they are making it possible to truly change the lives of children who would otherwise face a lifetime of pain and rejection.”
Each year Operation Smile, an organization of thousands of volunteer surgeons, dentists, and specialized health-care professionals, perform surgeries on as many needy children as their funding permits. Because of the medical volunteers, it costs only $240 to perform a typical operation. More than 100,000 children are born with a facial deformity each year in Operation Smile’s 23 mission countries.

“Capturing these precious moments are what we do best and being able to help such incredible children in the process is what makes our work our passion,” says Patty Bokhoven, owner of Touch of Color.

"As a member of the business community, we have a duty to help those in need, to come together and give…give our talent, our time and voice to those who desperately need help. We just hope everyone will take part and help us achieve our goal to raise $3000.00 if not more this month!" Says Touch of Color Business Manager, Marlena Fournier.
