Dallas – Attorneys from Dallas’ McKool Smith, P.C., are playing key roles in the 21st Annual Intellectual Assets and Technology Law Institute, the popular continuing legal education program taking place October 5 & 6, 2006, at the Marriott Dallas Las Colinas Hotel in Irving, Texas.

McKool Smith is a sponsor of the Institute, and three of the firm’s lawyers are leading discussions on a variety of important topics concerning intellectual property and technology law.

Firm principal Thomas L. Mike McKool Jr., a principal and founder of McKool Smith, delivered the luncheon presentation on Thursday, Oct. 5, concerning the ethical implications of attorney Internet blogs and other communications on the World Wide Web. Mr. McKool is trial counsel for some of the world’s largest corporations, including airlines, energy companies, telecommunications firms and investment banking houses.

“Our attorneys are proud to be involved as sponsors and faculty members of this longstanding conference,” Mr. McKool says. “The business leaders and in-house counsel who attend will come away with new information to help their companies.”

The Friday luncheon presentation from Lewis T. LeClair, a principal with McKool Smith, covers the ethical considerations of attorneys’ investing in clients’ businesses and other business relationships with clients. Mr. LeClair has been a trial lawyer for nearly 30 years, focusing his practice on commercial litigation.
