FOR THOSE WHO DARE

This winter Berghaus launches its most progressive climbing collection to date, Big Wall. Over three years in the making and with extensive testing and development by the world’s elite climbers, Big Wall takes extreme climbing kit to new heights.

Berghaus sponsored climbers constantly challenged designers to create gear as strong as their will to succeed. The development included direct input and destructive testing from Leo Houlding and Alex and Thomas Huber on extreme faces in Patagonia and Yosemite, which has produced gear with cutting edge design that reaches new heights.

The result is a collection of seven exciting and ground breaking products that are comfortable, strong and light. Most of all, they’re worthy of the biggest challenges the world can throw at man. This is kit for the elite, passed on to you.

Solipsist Jacket
You don’t have to be stuck halfway up a big wall to appreciate the benefits of a jacket like the Solipsist, packed with features that anyone wanting to escape the elements will love.

Like all the Big Wall range, there is technology in there you probably didn’t know existed, let alone knew you needed – until now. There are micro-taped seams to reduce bulk and weight, water resistant zips and welded pockets too, to ensure you stay comfortable and dry in the worst weather while thermomoulded PU protection offers added reinforcement to the shoulders.

Made from GORE-TEX® XCR®, one of the best waterproof, breathable and sturdy fabrics available, there are a host of features that will mark you out as a leader – harness and rope or not.

Asylum Belay Parka
This is the ultimate in insulating protection, using Primaloft insulation in the areas you need it most (the main body) and less in the areas you don’t, the Asylum shows you mean business, even if that means you’re on the way to the studio or office and not the Alps.

Out in the elements you’ll be grateful of the hood, handwarmer pockets and waterproof outer shell. And with the reflective print on the hood and cuffs, they’ll be sure to see you coming, right until you take it off and put it in its own stuff sac. Light, warm, waterproof and packable, you can always be ready with the Asylum.

Musashi Jacket
Made from stretch Schoeller® fabric with Nanosphere™ technology to repel water as well as grease and oil, you can be sure the Musashi will stand up to abuse. It’s cut with an active fit to be close to the body and snug. With rollaway hood in the collar, water resistant zips and the Musashi’s level of warmth, this is more than just a comfortable jacket.

Rak Bag and Squealer Haul Bag
Berghaus made its name with gear like this and these are more than just great looking climbing sacs. The Rak is a Kevlar™ reinforced day bag that will stand up to whatever you throw at it, and won’t fall apart whatever you put inside it. The Squealer is designed with two things in mind – making it strong and waterproof. It features a waterproof roll top closure,

sewn, welded and taped construction, and Cordura/Kevlar™ mix fabric with a ceramic coating for abrasion resistance. This is as tough as they come.

The range will be available in selected outdoor retailers from the end of October 2006.
