Ed Sykes and Joy Fisher-Sykes Share Motivation and Change Management Secrets at Los Angeles CAEYC Conference

Virginia Beach, VA, October 19, 2006—Ed Sykes and Joy Fisher-Sykes, Co-founders of The Sykes Group, shared their proven motivational and change management at the 2006 California Association for Educators of Young Children (CAEYC) Conference at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott on September 20th . The titles of Ed and Joy’s presentations were “Appreciate to Motivate: Seven Secrets to Achieving Your Goals” and “Embracing Change: Helping Others Experience the Power of Growth,” respectively.

CAEYC is the chapter of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Its mission is to enhance the learning experience of young children through the professional development of parents, staff, teachers, and trainers.
During Ed’s keynote presentation, he stressed the need to keep teachers, staff, and parents motivated to achieve the mission of teaching the children. “Motivating the professional during these challenging times in the school system is extremely important to the success of our children’s education,” says Ed Sykes. “Everyday we need to create educational moments, miracles, and masterpieces that grow in value with age.”

In Joy’s change management session, she spoke of enhancing the ability to embrace change and make it work for the educator. “Change in the school system is coming and it’s is coming fast,” say Joy. “You can either learn how it will work for you or have change run over you during the process; the choice is yours.”
