Twinning Engineering Programmes (TEP) and Thammasat English Programme of Engineering (TEPE) extend collaboration to world-class universities
Students are confident with 4-years worthwhile curriculum for academic and various hands-on experiences

Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University said “TEP & TEPE has been ready for collaboration to famous universities in U.S., Europe, and Asia in order to develop Thai engineers to be well-trained as international ones. A representative from senior student is confident with 4-years worthwhile curriculum in gaining various experiences with higher potential employment at leading domestic and international enterprises.

Bangkok, 27 October 2006 - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uruya Weesakul, Dean of Engineering, Thammasat University mentioned about the extended collaboration of TEP that “At this moment, TEP is on the process of extension and collaboration among international universities such as U.S., Germany, and Japan in order to develop well-trained engineers for higher competence and expertise in engineering knowledge. TEP students get a world-class engineering education with English proficiency in international communication skills.”

Mr. Nathapol Utaranakorn, freshman representative said “Nowadays Thailand needs to compete with other countries, we need more English communication. Therefore only academic knowledge is insufficient for future employment then I decided to take TEP since the 2-years course abroad will equip me with direct engineering knowledge by expertise and simultaneous English skill. Besides I can meet new friends with new culture and receive hands-on experience. After graduation, I’ll have more opportunities for employment in leading organizations.”

For Thammasat English Programme of Engineering (TEPE) is bachelor degree of Engineering in English programme for international academic engineering education. The students will spend 4 years at Thammasat University, Rangsit campus. Throughout the curriculum, a wide range of English courses will be offered to elevate students’ competence. In addition, students have opportunity to participate in the student exchange programme with partner universities including take trip to either Thailand or abroad for broader experience.

Ms. Warisara Sorsongsermkul, TEPE’s junior student representative added “I selected TEPE because I personally love English and also interested in engineering. Even though I haven’t study abroad but it’s not disadvantage since if I pay attention in class, I can gain engineering knowledge and get more familiar with English. The lecturers hold advanced degrees from world-leading universities and bring us their direct experience from the industrial sector.”

Ms. Warisara advised those who are interested that “If you are interested in engineering and love English as I do, you should study hard and keep practicing in English. The lecturers are nice and reachable, you can always ask for help. For those who are unconfident with English skills, don’t be worried the intensive course will be provided for preparation. This is not difficult but great opportunities.”
