FT. WORTH, Texas – November 1, 2006 – Starr Tincup, an integrated marketing firm that serves software and services companies through customer selection, acquisition and retention, announced today that J. William Tincup, principal and co-founder of Starr Tincup, has been named president of the board of directors for Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth (CD/FW) for the 2006-2007 season.

William began working with CD/FW as a volunteer on the Administration and Planning Committee earlier this year, and he accepted a position on the board of directors for the new fiscal year that began September 1. Board members for CD/FW oversee the activity of the organization and make sure that it is legally compliant and serving the community appropriately. Board members also provide human and financial resources to assist in the development of CD/FW.

“While inviting a new board member to be president may seem unorthodox, William seemed like the logical choice for a variety of reasons,” said Kerry Kreiman, executive director and artistic director of CD/FW. “William is a man of many talents and abilities. He is a truly creative thinker who is able to think outside of the box and look at things from many different perspectives. I feel that William’s creativity and natural leadership skills can help us jump to the next level, and I’m thrilled that he is willing to serve in this capacity despite his short time with the organization. We’re excited about the prospect for positive change which he can help to generate.”

CD/FW, Fort Worth’s first professional modern dance company, was established to promote and produce modern dance in the Fort Worth and Tarrant County area. CD/FW produces a performing company, the CD/FW Company, and also showcases independent choreographers and dancers. The CD/FW Company has performed works by choreographers recognized at local, regional and national levels. While the performing company is the primary vehicle for many of the organization’s programs, CD/FW continues to present other companies and independent choreographers in order to provide a diversity of modern dance for local audiences. CD/FW’s goals are to increase acknowledgement of the local arts community, to assemble enthusiastic audiences for the arts and to promote a greater appreciation and understanding of modern dance. CD/FW’s mission is to develop the art, artists and audiences for modern dance through performance and education in schools and in the community.

“I am excited to work with such a dedicated group of people and in an organization with such renewed focus,” said J. William Tincup, principal and co-founder of Starr Tincup. “It is also very inspiring to work with an executive director who has so much passion.”
