IRVINE, CA - Award-winning KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, has opened a new office in Oakland, California to expand its services in the western United States. KTGY now has three California offices. The new Oakland Studio, which is located in the historical Allied Paper Company building at 283 4th Street, Suite 201, will be headed by seasoned KTGY designer and principal Jill Williams, AIA. This year also marks KTGY’s 15th year anniversary.

According to Williams, KTGY’s design studio in Oakland is currently managing a variety of residential, retail and mixed-use development projects: the Brisbane Quarry site, an active quarry site in the San Bruno mountains, which has plans to stop operation and be annexed to the City of Brisbane and developed with a variety of Live/Work, Artists’ Lofts and hillside single family homes (plans have been on the drawing board for more than seven years and KTGY’s Oakland Infill Studio has just completed a new neighborhood design that brings a vital and unique mixed use to the hillside setting); and redevelopment sites in the City of Isleton, incorporating downtown mixed-use and new housing units along the river.

“KTGY’s stronger local presence in the Oakland Warehouse District provides for a stronger community interface and accessibility to our clients,” said KTGY’s CEO Tricia Esser.

According to Williams, “The Oakland Studio allows us to pursue urban infill opportunities in the region. With a full service studio, we are able to quickly respond to our clients’ needs from site planning through construction administration.”

A residential design specialist, Jill Williams brings to KTGY 22 years of experience with a particular focus on the northern California region from high density single family to attached solutions. Noteworthy past projects include Bayside at Hercules, providing home business oriented, three-story duets in a new neighborhood of 350 homes; Arbor Real in Palo Alto, previously the Hyatt Rickey’s site, responding to contextual issues of the single-family neighborhood on one side and El Camino Real on the other; plus various downtown infill sites from Davis to Windsor to Gilroy.

Williams graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and is a registered architect in California. She is a member of Homebuilders Association (HBA) and is a frequent speaker at Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC). An active community volunteer, Williams is working with HomeAid on a home in Hayward for the developmentally disabled. Williams, a KTGY board member, joined the company in 1991 and was previously based in the company’s Irvine office.
