INTERLOCHEN, MI – Jeffrey Kimpton, President of Interlochen Center for the Arts, has announced that Steven M. Hoffman will lead marketing and communications efforts for all of Interlochen’s programs.

“Interlochen offers so many programs that can enrich lives through art – but reaching the right people with our message is not always easy,” said Kimpton. “Steve Hoffman brings the experience, knowledge and savvy required to meet this challenge and raise awareness about the exciting things that are happening on this campus.”

Currently the director of public relations and marketing at the Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, Hoffman brings a wide range of experience to this position. He has a bachelor’s degree in music composition and theory from the University of Iowa, and a master’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University. He was the director of web and publications at Olivet College in Michigan before joining Cranbrook in 2001. A year later, he became the director of public relations and marketing at Cranbrook in 2002.

“I am eager to join the talented students, faculty and staff who make Interlochen such a remarkable organization,” said Hoffman. “And I am looking forward to doing my part to help Interlochen remain a leader in the arts for decades to come.”

As the director of marketing and communications, Hoffman will oversee efforts to raise visibility and awareness for all Interlochen programs, which include a summer arts camp, a fine arts boarding high school, an independent day school in Traverse City, two listener- supported public radio stations, adult art classes and seminars and year-round concert and arts programming. He will begin on December 1.
