Dr. William Minsinger, Author of The 1938 Hurricane, To Appear at Old Saybrook Middle School

Old Saybrook, CT - Harbor Books, LLC and The Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce will present a lecture entitled “Shoreline Hurricanes Then & Now” with Dr. William Minsinger, author of The 1938 Hurricane. The Old Saybrook Police Department will also give a brief talk on hurricane preparedness. The lecture takes place on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Old Saybrook Middle School Auditorium, 60 Sheffield Street (off Main Street) in Old Saybrook, CT. This event is free and open to the public.

The 1938 hurricane was one of the top ten worst hurricanes in the past century and was the deadliest and costliest Hurricane to hit the Atlantic Coast in US history – causing more property damage than the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake.
