TOP ACCOLADE FOR SECOND YEAR RUNNING FOR N&W GLOBAL VENDING

Collecting the award at a glittering event held at the Dorchester Hotel in London was Mike Kane, sales and marketing director at N&W Global Vending.

Starfood from Necta won the food and drink vending category over a host of the industry’s best contenders for its ease of use, reliability and aesthetic appeal. The award follows on from the success in 2005 when the Wittenborg 7600 beverage vendor took the top spot.

The Caterer Group began the awards in 2005 to recognise excellence in equipment supply to the catering industry.

Mike Kane comments: “To be recognised by the industry for our excellence, two years running, is truly gratifying. We’re absolutely thrilled with the award, which will take pride of place next to last year’s award in our reception area. And now the pressure is certainly on for next year!”

Available with eight or ten drum selection, the Starfood benefits from high capacity of 192 and 240 items respectively, excellent branding opportunities and a compact design. The increased drum height of the eight drum model is specifically suited to the popular oversized triangular sandwich packs, which can be displayed correctly due to the higher than standard 130mm height.

An innovative airflow system allows an even distribution of temperature or can be adjusted for each drum, to suit the products displayed.

The Starfood has a number of elements that are of real use to the caterer including:
• It will not vend if the temperature rises above a pre-programmed safe level.
• The machine monitors any loss of power and disables the machine.
• A central airflow system allows the internal cabinet temperature to be varied to allow for a wide range of products to be kept at their optimum temperature.
• Units also vend a range of products from pre-packed sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt and pastries through to plated meals up to 9 inch diameter.
• Drums that will remove and fit in a dishwasher, and a 10mm border on each drum to catch drips and spillages.
• Well placed controls that comply with new disability regulations.

Mike continued: ‘The Starfood is a market leader and has been well received by not only the end user for ease of use, but also for its competitive pricing, innovation and above all, simplicity. What the Starfood offers is fresh and appetising food that has been correctly preserved at a constant temperature. It’s all about keeping the end-user happy.”
