Dallas actor Jerome Bethea took home the Script-2-Screen Film Festival's "Best Actor' award October 8, for his performance as Darryl Reese in Northern Iron Productions' feature film "Hurt".

When accepting the award, Bethea thanked his director Doug Phillips, the festival directors Oscar Dean and Shiron Ray, his wife, and, he says, "Most importantly, I thank the Lord, because I see this award as encouragement from Him. Acting is not an easy path to take, but this is like He's telling me I'm on the right one."

The Script-2-Screen festival, the largest in Oklahoma, features awards hand-carved by artist Heidi Priddy in a unique Southwestern design.

The film Hurt follows the story of a young couple dealing with the aftermath their baby's crib death, and potential foul play. Bethea stars as the baby's grieving father and seemingly perfect husband to co-star Heather Surdurkan.

The film premiered in early 2006 at the Barebones Film Festival.

Jerome Bethea resides in Dallas, TX, and is represented by the Kim Dawson Agency. He has been seen recently in a national series of Hungry Man television commercials. For more on Bethea, visit www.jeromebethea.com.
