November 11, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Abacus Deltron France, a distributor of electro-mechanic components, has become the first French company and the third company worldwide to be certifed by the International Electrotechnical Commission for Quality (IECQ) for “Hazardous Substances Process Management.” The certification process assessed the company's compliance to the requirements of the RoHS Directive and positions Abacus Deltron France as a preferred supplier since the RoHS Directive became effective on 1 July 2006.

As part of this commitment, Abacus Deltron France made the decision to become “Hazardous Substances Process Management” (HSPM) certified. Certification demonstrates a company’s ability to control and manage the use of hazardous substances in compliance with the RoHS Directive.

The Certification Process : To become certified, Abacus Deltron France met a series of rigorous requirements that included a comprehensive audit to assess their processes and compliance with the RoHS Directive. As part of the process, they were required to identify all hazardous substances; define the company’s policy and objectives towards the use of these substances; and develop process documentation.

A Trusted Partner: Working with Bureau Veritas as a third-party auditor was a natural choice. As a qualified auditor for HSPM and as a leader in testing and certification services for the electrical industry, LCIE (the electrical division of Bureau Veritas) offered Abacus Deltron France the expertise and excellence in service they sought. Certification clearly defines Abacus Deltron France as a preferred supplier with a commitment meeting the requirements of the RoHS Directive.
