CRANSTON, RI – Responding to an ongoing mattress crisis at the Welcome Arnold Shelter, which is run by the Urban League of Rhode Island, Dial-A-Mattress, New England’s leading mattress tele-retailer, announced that it is working with Serta Mattress Company to donate 20 new mattress sets to the shelter.

A Dial-A-Mattress truck from its headquarters in suburban Boston will arrive Thursday, Nov. 16th at the Welcome Arnold Shelter, 600 New London Ave. at 12:00 p.m. to deliver and assemble the new Serta mattress sets.
Dial executives learned of the plight of the shelter after seeing news accounts of an insect infestation at the shelter, and its attempts to purchase new mattresses only for them to become re-infested.

“This was a desperate situation we felt compelled to address,” said Dial-A-Mattress President Robert Klein. “Everyone deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep, and we hope that Welcome Arnold residents will attain that with the help of these new mattresses.”

Dial-A-Mattress has an active corporate philanthropy program in place for all of the communities where it does business. In 2004, following the tragic aftermath of Hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Ivan, Dial-A-Mattress sent mattresses to relief organizations across Florida. In 2005, the company donated a portion of mattress sales to victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and sponsored displaced families who had relocated in the aftermath of the storms.

Additionally, the company’s corporate donation program has reached groups like The Pine Street Inn, Veteran Administration Hospitals, The Jimmy Fund, The Urban League, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Mustard Seed, Temple Brotherhood Mission, the Lynn Shelter Association and Elizabeth Stone House, among many others.

Urban League CEO Dennis Langley remarked, “We applaud Dial-A-Mattress and other responsible businesses who answer the call in times of need. We depend on the generosity of the local communities to help us provide critical basic services to people with no other place to turn.”

Headquartered at 180 Campanelli Parkway in Stoughton, Dial-A-Mattress operates its own call center, trucking fleet and warehouses at their headquarters in Stoughton, and warehouses in Pompano Beach, FL and Orlando, FL, Hartford, CT and Philadelphia, PA. The company has been servicing greater Boston and New England since 1992.

The Dial-A-Mattress/1-800-Mattress brand is the nation’s leading bedding tele-retailer. The company enables consumers to purchase a vast array of mattresses and box springs by phone (1-800-628-8737) and the Internet (mattress.com) 24/7. It features products by Sealy, Serta, Simmons, King Koil, Tempur-Pedic and others in 69 styles, including odd sizes.
